Strawberry Sumac Jam
Ingredients
- 1 pound strawberries, trimmed and quartered
- 1/2 pound granulated sugar
- Juice of 1/2 a large lemon
- 1 Tablespoon ground sumac
Directions
Combine the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a non-metallic bowl, and leave to macerate for 30 minutes.
Pour the strawberries and their liquid into a medium saucepan and stir in the sumac. Bring to a boil over medium heat, the reduce the heat to low and simmer until the strawberries have broken down and the jam is thick, 15 - 20 minutes. Set aside to cool.
